Embroidered Denim Jacket | 5 min Tutorial If you have a simple denim jacket that you want to customize with your own fashion style - plus you have absolutely no time or patience for a hand made embroidery - here is how you can achieve this style in 5 minutes. All you will need for this is to buy one of those sticky embroidered patches, an iron and a denim jacket. Once you decide where to stick the , seal it by ironing it as instructed on your patch. So I had this denim looking shirt that I bought a long time ago and haven't worn that much. As you know, this is the period for spring cleaning the closets and a lot of clothes we own and don't use end up (hopefully) given away. Instead of doing the same for this one, I thought I'd give it a second life with this makeover. To make this you will need: - An old shirt - A needle - Scissors - Cotton embroidery floss (I used DMC in numbers 905 green, 310 black, 915 dark plum and two other colors that I had in my collection but lost the reference to!) - Transfer paper or tracing paper (you can find special fabric ones in your haberdashery) First thing you want to do is transfer the pattern you want to embroider onto your shirt (excuse my wrinkled shirt :p) At this point you have the canvas all set for you to do your art. I've been seeing a lot of embroidered fashion items lately... Whether it's Gucci's floral jeans or Steve Madden's embroidered booties, this trend is making me very happy and "proud" of my attraction to this old-fashioned form of art. I personally think that embroidery is an underestimated DIY technique. This masterpiece of a t-shirt for example took me no more than half a day to make! Yes it is more than most of us are ready to spend on a DIY but it's worth it if it looks this clean and professional don't you think? It may seem intimidating but if I can do it, you can too ;)  I have learned embroidery in middle school (we had it as an extracurricular activity). Plus, my mother is an outstanding embroiderer so she inspired me to take the activity seriously :) I needed a platform to share this passion and I hope that it will be enjoyed.
